Target Audience
Our quick membership survey showed this site has a strong membership of people in their 20s. Though this site has many features of the “independant” sites it is definitely oriented to the Yahoo crowd.
Summary
A good, clean site that offers the right features to help you on your quest. It provides the tools to find a date without the distractions (Chat, video, etc.). Its matching information separates it from many sites that do not provide this feature. If you are already a Yahoo user, this site is worth considering.
Usability
On the surface, this site looks much like some of the best dating sites we’ve seen. However, a number of quirks and some basic deficiencies get in the way of providing good usability. Simple examples are: the lack of visible user names; and age is not one of the matching criteria. Match searches turn up lots of results, but then you have to sort through them for age and other factors, which we think defeats the purpose of a 2-way match search.
Don’t even get us started on viewing or editing your own profile. (You will find your profile in your mailbox!)
The site’s help section is simply an opportunity for Yahoo to push more marketing material rather than help solve real problems.
Best Features
We like the 2-way matching information and indicators as well as the good site graphics.
Wish List
We have three wishes for this site. We wish they showed the user names/aliases – the names are half the fun! We also wish the match search/comparison included age, and important criteria, we think. As it stands you can get matched with someone and be 15 years outside their preferred age range! And last, but not least, we wish this site was easier to use.
